Die Idee
Um Fehler frühzeitig finden zu können bevor eine neue Version ausgerollt wird, ist ein Beta-Test äußerst hilfreich. Mit Hilfe der Community können wir ein viel größeres Spektrum an Hardware und Software-Konfigurationen abdecken als es pascom alleine könnte.
Aus diesem Grund möchten wir möglichst viele von euch Forum-Usern in unsere Beta-Test-Programme bei Google und Apple mit aufnehmen.
Wie kann ich mitmachen?
Die Vorgehensweise unterscheidet sich, je nachdem ob um die Mobile-App (iOS / Android) oder um die Desktop-Anwendung (Windows, macOS oder Ubuntu Linux) geht.
Mobile: iOS / Android
Wer mitmachen will, muss einen der beiden Links auf dem jeweiligen Testgerät anklicken und den weiteren Anweisungen folgen:

Was passiert dann
Das vorgehen unterscheidet sich je nach Plattform - Das Feedback sollte aber immer hier im Forum im jeweiligen Thread zur Beta erfolgen (siehe unten).
iOS
Die Entsprechende AppleID wird bei uns ins TestFlight Programm mit aufgenommen. Dazu muss die Testflight App aus dem AppStore geladen werden, und dort ein Code, der via E-Mail von Apple an die ID geschickt wurde eingegeben werden. Dann kann die BETA-Versoin einfach über die normale App installiert und verwendet werden.
Android
Nach hinzufügen des Google Accounts taucht die neue Beta-Version einfach als Update im Play-Store Eintrag der pascom App auf und kann dort verwendet werden.
Wo finde ich heraus was geändert wurde?
Wenn eine neue Beta-Version erscheint (z. b. zur 17.03 ), dann wird in der News-Sektion ein neuer Thread eröffnet, in der die jeweiligen Änderungen (und auch Fixes während der Betaphase) aufgelistet werden. Feedback zu den Versionen bitte ebenfalls hier hinein.
Desktop: Windows, macOS, Linux
Beginnend mit der Version 17.10 des pascom Clients bezieht dieser Updates nicht mehr über den pascom Server, sondern Zentral via https://my.pascom.net .
Damit erhalten alle Benutzer automatische Updates des pascom Clients. Es ist nicht mehr erforderlich, den Server zu aktualisieren um Client-Updates automatisch verteilen zu können. Der Client bleibt selbstverständlich abwärtskompatibel über alle derzeit unterstützten Server-Versionen.
Angelehnt an die Konzepte des App-Stores und Play-Stores gibt es nun für den pascom Client auch einen Beta-Channel. Wenn man auf diesen umschaltet, bekommt man die neuesten Features bereits 1-2 Wochen vor Release. Jedes Feedback hier im Forum hilft uns, die Software zu verbessern und Bugs im Stable Channel zu vermeiden.
Wie werde ich Beta-Tester?
Direkt im Client
Einfach im Client die Einstellungen, und dort im Abschnitt Über pascom Client (ganz unten) den Link für Zum Beta Channel wechseln anklicken und den Anweisungen folgen. Wenn eine Beta verfügbar ist bietet der Client diese automatisch als ganz normales Update an.

Manueller Download
Alternativ kann der Beta-Client auch manuell heruntergeladen und installiert werden. Nach der Installation sollte der Update-Channel auf den Beta-Channel geändert werden, ansonsten erhält der Client keine Updates!

The Idea
In order to collect feedback and find bugs before a release is distributed ot a significant number of end users, it’s extremely useful to conduct beta testing of new software features. With the help of the community it’s possible to test much more combinations of hardware and software than pascom alone ever could.
Therefore, we are asking as many of our forum users as possible to join our Google and Apple BETA test programmes.
How can I participate?
If you want to participate, you need to click on one of the following links for your operating system. Then follow the respective instructions:

What’s Next
What happens next depends of the platform you are testing. However, all feedback should be entered here in the forum under the corresponding BETA thread (see below).
iOS
Your AppleID will be added to our TestFlight Program. You will then need to download the Testflight App from the AppStore and enter a code which you will receive via your AppleID registered e-mail. Then you can install BETA-Versions using the TestFlight App just as you would normally install the app.
Android
After adding your Google Account, the Beta-Version should appear as an update within the PlayStore on your phone.
Where Can I See What’s New with the App?
If a new BETA version becomes available (e. g. 17.03 ), a new thread will be started within the news section. All changes will be listed here and your feedback should be entered under this thread.
Desktop: Windows, macOS, Linux
Beginning with pascom Client version 17.10, updates are no longer retrieved via the pascom phone system server, rather centrally via https://my.pascom.net .
As such, all users will receive automatic client updates. It’s no longer necessary to update the phone system in order to distribute client updates. The client will of course remain backwards compatible to all currently supported phone system versions.
BETA Programme
The Idea
Based on the concept of the App Store and Play Store BETA testing, there is now a BETA channel for the pascom Desktop Client. Should you switch to the BETA, you will receive all the newest features a couple of weeks before the release. All the feedback provided here in the forum helps us improve our software and avoid bugs in the STABLE channel version.
How do I become a BETA Tester?
Directly in the client
In the client settings simply go to the “About pascom client” section (bottom) and click the “Switch to BETA version” link and follow the instructions. If a BETA version is available, the client will offer this as a normal update.

Manual Download
Alternatively, you can download and install the beta client manually. Make sure to change the Update-Channel to the Beta-Channel after installation, otherwise the client will not update itself.
