View Modes and Control

The pascom app offers three predefined modes that can be quickly toggled using keyboard shortcuts. This allows you to switch between a detailed overview and a space-saving view, depending on your current task.

Use the following keyboard shortcuts to quickly switch between modes while working:

  • Mini Mode:
  • Normal Mode:
  • Fullscreen Mode (Expanded Mode):

1. Fullscreen Mode (Expanded Mode)

Expanded mode is the most comprehensive view of the pascom app. It is ideal when using the app as a central communication hub on a separate monitor. The interface is divided into three main sections:

1.1 Left Section: Profile and Contacts

This section serves as the anchor point for your personal presence. You can manage your status and access your most important contacts here.

The left section displays your profile, presence status, and the contact list for quick access to colleagues.

  • Profile: Click on your profile picture to set status messages or change settings.
  • Contact List: Here, you will find your favorites and colleagues, including their current telephony and presence status.

1.2 Middle Section: Dynamic Content

The middle part of the app is flexible and changes its content based on your selection in the menu bar.

By default, the dynamic middle section displays the search function and recent notifications, but it can also show chat history or the journal.

Simply enter a name or number into the search field to start a communication. Using the icons in the menu bar, you can switch this area to:

  • Chat: Current and past text conversations.
  • Journal: An overview of your missed and placed calls.
  • Phonebook: Access to all company-wide contacts and LDAP directories.

1.3 Right Section: Telephony and Call Control

The telephony field is located on the right side. This is where you have full control over your calls.

The right section features the dial pad for manual input and control elements for active calls.

During an active call, interactive buttons appear here for holding, transferring, or initiating conferences.

2. Normal Mode

Normal mode offers a balance between information density and space-saving.

In this view, the profile and contact sections are permanently visible. The content area (chat, journal, etc.) is displayed depending on your selection. You can switch between functions such as , ,, or using the vertical or horizontal menu bar (depending on window width).

3. Mini Mode

Mini mode is the minimalist version of the pascom app. It is perfect for placing the app discreetly at the edge of the screen while working in other applications.

Mini mode reduces the pascom app to a single column for maximum space-saving on the desktop.

In this mode, only one section (e.g., the contact list or an active chat) is visible at a time. Navigation is handled via the menu bar located at the bottom.

4. Customizing the Layout

In addition to the fixed modes, you can freely adjust the pascom app window. The responsive layout ensures that buttons and lists rearrange themselves automatically.

4.1 Resizing the Window

Move your mouse cursor to one of the edges or corners of the pascom app window.
Click and hold the left mouse button once the pointer turns into a double arrow.
Drag the window to your desired width and height.
Release the mouse button to fix the new size.

The responsive design allows for seamless scaling of the app, with controls adapting dynamically.

4.2 Positioning the Window

You can place the app anywhere on your desktop or across different monitors.

Click and hold the mouse button on the upper application bar (header) of the app.
Move the window to the desired position on your desktop.
Release the mouse button to place the app.

The position of the pascom app can be easily changed on the desktop by dragging the header bar.
