Making Outgoing Calls

In this guide, you will learn how to make outgoing calls using the pascom app.

27. Jan. 2026

Whether in the office, working from home, or on the go – with the pascom app, you are just one click away from your next conversation. In this guide, we will show you how to start calls at lightning speed and take full advantage of the pascom app’s flexibility.

Choosing the Right End Device

Before you make your first call, it is important to determine which device you want to use for telephoning. By default, the pascom app controls the selected device – whether it is the virtual softphone in your computer, your desk phone, or your mobile device.

Important for the first call: Ensure that the desired end device (e.g., “pascom Softphone” or “Desk Phone”) is actively selected in the device management. Without this selection, you will not achieve the calling behavior you desire.

Detailed instructions on how to do this can be found under My Devices.

The “Green Phone Icon” Principle

The pascom app makes it easy for you: wherever you see a , you can start a call. This applies to the contact list, call history, chats, and many other places.

The phone icon symbols can have different states. An explanation of the various colors of the phone icon symbol can be found in this guide.

Calling via the Dialpad

The dialpad is your hub for manual number entry.

  • Number entry: Simply type in the phone number. You don’t have to worry about formats (e.g., +49, 0049, or spaces) – the pascom app automatically corrects the syntax and selects the correct format.
  • Copy & Paste: You can conveniently copy phone numbers from websites or emails via the clipboard and paste them directly into the dialpad.
  • Person search: The dialpad also serves as a search tool. Enter the name of a colleague to find and call them directly.

Calling via Your End Devices (CTI)

Thanks to CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) control, the pascom app and your hardware phones work hand in hand.

  • Remote control: If you start a call with a mouse click in the app (desktop), your assigned desk phone automatically dials the number.
  • Synchronization: If you start a call manually on the desk phone or via your mobile device, this status is immediately displayed in the pascom app on the computer as well.

This synchronization happens in both directions. This makes your telephony behavior extremely flexible, as you can always use the device that fits best at the moment without losing track in the app.

Click-2-Dial via Keyboard Shortcuts

One of the fastest ways to start a call is the Click-2-Dial feature via a keyboard shortcut.

  1. Highlight a phone number with the mouse in any application (e.g., web browser, CRM, email program).
  2. Press the keyboard shortcut on Mac or on Windows for Click-2-Dial.
  3. The pascom app takes the number, cleans it up if necessary, and starts the call automatically.

This saves time and avoids typing errors when transferring numbers.

An overview of all keyboard shortcuts can be found in this guide.
