PUBLIC

In the service settings of your phone system, you can configure system-wide parameters for basic data, telephony, user authentication, and the behavior of pascom apps.

1. Open the Service Settings

To configure settings for the different services, navigate to the corresponding menu in the Admin Dashboard:

Log in to the pascom Admin Dashboard.
Click the gear in the menu.
Select .

You will see several tabs covering various aspects of the system.

2. Basic Data

On the Basic Data tab, you configure fundamental system information.

  • Hostname: The internal hostname (e.g., mysystem) for your phone system.
  • Notification address: The central email address for critical system notifications. Generally, you enter the administrator’s email address here.
  • Automation of recordings: Defines whether and how the system processes call recordings automatically (Default: None).

Click to apply your changes.

3. Telephony

On the Telephony tab, you find parameters for connection establishment and your Asterisk instance.

  • Default codecs: Define the supported and preferred audio and video codecs, separated by a space (e.g., opus alaw ulaw gsm h264). Usually, you do not need to change this setting.
  • Asterisk console loglevel: Define which message categories the system displays on the Asterisk console (e.g., notice, warning, error).
  • Asterisk system journal loglevel: Define the level of detail for the internal system journal. Usually, you do not need to change this setting.
  • Default outside line access: Enter the prefix you use to access an outside line, if applicable (e.g., 0). Users must dial this prefix before dialing an external number to route the call.
  • External group number (incl. +): Enter the external phone number for groups in international format (e.g., +4999112345678). The system uses this number for the external availability of groups. You only need one phone number because the system differentiates virtual group rooms using automatically generated PINs.
  • Phone UI admin password: Enter a secure administrator password for the user interfaces of your end devices (phones).

Click to apply your changes.

4. Authentication

This tab is relevant if you connect your system to an external user directory via LDAP.

  • LDAP Authentication enabled: Select whether a directory service controls the authentication (YES / NO).
Test authentication Once you enable LDAP and enter the required details, you can click to verify that the connection to the server works successfully.

5. Exchange Server

This tab serves to globally enable an Exchange Server connection.

  • Active: Set this option to YES to enable the Exchange interface. The system displays further configuration fields for the Exchange Server only after you enable this option.

6. Client

Here you manage system-wide permissions and settings for the pascom app.

  • Prohibit downloading of recordings: Controls whether app users have permission to download call recordings locally (No means the download is allowed).
  • Prohibit downloading of voicemails: Defines whether users can save voicemails as audio files.
  • Show phone number in contact list: Enable this feature to display the corresponding phone numbers directly below the names in the pascom app contact list.

Click to secure your settings.

7. Mobile Hub

On the Mobile Hub tab, you configure the phone number for the GSM fallback.

  • External number (with +): Enter the external dial-in number (in international format, e.g., +4999112345678). Mobile apps use this number for the GSM fallback if there is no sufficient data connection.

Click to apply changes.

8. Faxserver

Here you configure the global settings for the integrated virtual fax server from pascom.

At the very top, you see your system-generated Mail to Fax Email Address (e.g., yourcredentials-fax-...@mail.pascom.cloud). The system faxes emails sent to this address, including attachments, to the fax number specified in the subject line. Click to regenerate this address for security reasons.

  • Total number of fax lines: Defines how many fax documents the system can send and receive simultaneously (e.g., 2).
  • Reserve for incoming faxes: A number of lines that the system permanently reserves for receiving faxes. This ensures the system remains reachable even with many outgoing faxes (e.g., 1).
  • Fax ID: The sender name that the system transmits on the sent fax header (e.g., pascom0).
  • Number of sending attempts: Determines how often the system tries to resend the fax if errors occur, such as a busy signal (e.g., 3).
  • Options for parsing emails: Set the behavior for faxes via email here (e.g., Fax attachment only, so the system ignores the email text).
