pascom Server Installation (for new / reinstallations only)

The pascom appliance is delivered with the pascom phone system server software already pre-installed. Perform the following steps only if you wish to reinstall the system!

Requirements

  • USB stick with a minimum capacity of 8GB
  • Free of charge Flash Tool Rufus (only for Windows)
  • pascom Server Software ISO File

Flash the USB Stick

Aftering flashing, the USB stick must contain a FAT file system as you will need to modify the setup.json for the automatic setup. Tools such as Etcher create a Read Only ISO file system on the USB stick. As a result, modifying the setup.json is not possible, which is why you will need to use Rufus to generate the USB stick.

Connect the USB stick to your compute and start Rufus. Now select the pascom Server ISO file under , select the USB stick via and finally click the :

Rufus

Preparing the Automatic Setup

As the pascom SOHO phone system server does not have a monitor connectivity option, you will need to add a file named setup.json to the USB stick and pre-allocate the file with your network settings. The system will automatically boot and configure the network settings accordingly. This ensures that you are able to continue with the web based setup as soon as the system has started.
