pascom CeBIT 2015 Review

pascom’s mobydick VoIP solution a success at CeBIT 2015

24.03.2015 | Deggendorf | Hannover - CeBIT 2015 in Hannover has come and gone, and early indications are that the event has been a resounding success for pascom’s mobydick VoIP solution, both nationally and internationally. Figures released by Deutsche Messe AG on the exhibitions closing day make for pleasant reading as they illustrate that visitor numbers grew by 6% over 2014 to 221,000 trade professionals, which further demonstrates the role CeBIT has to play in the global IT industry. Furthermore, with 92% of the visitors coming from the trade sector, the new format introduced last year, appears to be having a positive impact for both visitors and exhibitors alike.

Reflecting upon the show, Thomas Schmidt, pascom Sales Director, agreed with the research findings when stating “compared to 2014, the 2015 show generated a significantly higher number of quality conversations regarding our Unified Communications Solution {pascom’s mobydick VoIP PBX software}”. His comments coincide with CeBIT’s findings that one in three visitors (34%) were senior management members and that 72% of visitors had a degree of influence within their respective companies’ decision making processes.

According to Thomas Schmidt, the success of the show and interest in the exhibit had benefited greatly from unified communications being one of the main focuses this year. “Our new video telephony solution, which is the first step towards offering a complete video collaboration suite, has been a particular highlight this year, receiving extremely positive feedback thus far from all our visitors, especially from those who were attracted to the exhibition due to its focus on UC solutions.”

Mathias Pasquay, CEO pascom, mentioned during the event that “CeBIT delivers the perfect platform from which to showcase our latest collaboration tools, such as video telephony, fully integrated softphone and the ongoing development of our instant messaging tools to not only the German market but also further afield”. When questioned regarding the calibre of international visitors Mr Pasquay commented that “the 2015 event once again demonstrated the growing international interest in mobydick as is reflected by the substantial increase in international channel partner stand visitors”, which further supports the figures showing that international event visitors accounted for 23% of total attendees, further amplifying CeBIT’s importance to the global IT community.

When we make decisions regarding new systems, we want to make sure that we have both reins firmly in our hands. Therefore, it is essential to implement systems which adhere to OpenStandards, allowing us to seamlessly connect and integrate these into our existing systems. In addition, we require reliable suppliers, who are ready to customise their solutions to our requirements, which is why we chose pascom who offer exactly this service and more.

We chose pascom as our telephony solution in part due to the scalability, flexibility and ease of deployment. In addition, the pascom platform functions perfectly with our digital guest directories in our rooms whilst offering the largest range of features at easily the most cost effective price compared to alternative solutions. A further deciding factor was the wide choice of compatible hardware that choosing pascom afforded us.

My team and I pride ourselves on the level of excellent care we provide our guests. However, it can be distracting when the phone is always ringing and we constantly answer the same questions. Thanks to the pascom phone system, we have been able to set up an automated attendant self-service hotline which allows guests to quickly get answers and if required callers can be quickly and efficiently routed to an employee. The system greatly improves customer service with around-the-clock answers around opening times and courses and therefore reduces the strain on employees, ensuring we are free to cater to the needs of our on-site guests.
